In 2007, HUFA’s very first donation in memory of Avchen Pinkard went to Rescue Dada – a street girls’ rehabilitation centre in Nairobi. “Dada” means “sister” in Swahili, and this well-established group gives vulnerable girls shelter, counselling, education and support so they can return to their families and schools. We thought it fitting to return to our roots and give more street girls a chance at a new life.
